Fowey and the Local Area

Getting Here
If you wish to leave your car at home there are flights to Newquay from Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Gatwick, Bristol and Dublin
Trains stop at Par station only three miles down the road.

We are happy to pick people up from the local stations and airports.

Fowey is a very picturesque town on a beautiful estuary. In the summer the harbour is full of yachts and a variety of visiting boats.
Local boatmen offer trips up the river to Golant, Lerryn, and Lostwithiel (when the tides are right) and Polperro and Looe (weather dependant).
There are ferries to Bodinnick, Polruan and Mevagissey and boat trips out to Looe Island. Wildlife is prolific and Basking Sharks and Dolphins are not uncommon.
Fowey has a good selection of pubs where the food is very good and children and dogs are welcome, as well as a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and price ranges.

Around and About
Fowey is an ideal base for visiting The Eden Project (about 10 mins), The Lost Gardens of Heligan (about 25 mins) and Lanhydrock House (about 15 mins).
Other parts of Cornwall are also accessible including, Newquay, Truro, Falmouth etc.
We are very happy to give our guests information about local activities that allow people to leave the car behind as much as possible. Trevanion Guest House is within easy walking distance of all parts of Fowey. There are a number of splendid walks including the well known Hall Walk, the South West Coast Path and The Saints Way.
